A Change in Direction!

A Change in Direction!

Since December with my fourth and last showing at the Spectrum Art Fair and Miami Art Week I have had to rethink some of my marketing and outreach to gain clients and patrons.  I will be working more on my art and pure photography rather than trying to gain a footing in a world of galleries that look down on photography and photo art.  I have seen a number of shows where trademarked and registered characters and images of famous people are reimagined and they are applauded, there are famous art pieces that are put onto different medium and admired.  Yes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but is it new art, perhaps, but not in my mind.  Considering that I ahve seen nothing new in humanities expression in literature or cinema in the last 50 years and popular music is more computer driven than talent with autotune it seems that true talent is dying and the patience to really  create is waning.

When one duct tapes a banana on a white wall and sells it for over a million dollars is that really art or just a new version of "The Emperor's New Clothes"?  I refuse to us AI to create as it stiffles my oul not free it.

So I will go on!
